Welcome to Nature’s Nest - our infant and toddler room Nature's Nest is divided into two separate areas for babies from 3 months to 15 months or until they are confidently walking. The toddler room is for children from approximately 15 months to three years of age. Children will move through the rooms in consultation with families and consideration of their individual development and needs rather than age. This may mean that the age that your child may move through to the toddler room may be earlier or later than 15 months.

Our infant room The infant room has been designed to be a warm, homely and safe place for babies to move, crawl and learn to walk. Nature's nest will be a nurturing, peaceful environment where children can unfold naturally, in an environment that is unhurried and supported by relationships that are respectful and responsive. The rhythm or routine of the infant centre will be determined by the ind ividual needs of your infant and you can be confident that your baby will be cared for by experienced, qualified, infant caregivers.
Our philosophy and belief is that once infants develop the skill and confidence in walking that they will benefit from the tactile and sensory toddler environment. The toddler room is unhurried, relaxed and predictable, so children can be active participants in the rhythms of the day. To be a toddler is to be active and to be curious, our toddler programme will reflect the need for endless exploration by providing quality open-ended natural materials and their own outside space that is designed especially for toddlers need to express themselves through movement. Our low teacher-child ratios of 1:3 allow for toddlers to be supported through this critical stage of development when children are developing language, social skills and independence but are still highly interdependent on adults.
